The Camarines Norte Persons with Disability Affairs Office is continuously deliberating the thrust to support all the undertakings promoting respect for Person with Disability and implementation of their rights. In celebration of the 45^th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, this institution has then conducted an Accessibility Audit and Implementation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 344 at Roadhouse Inn, Café, and Grill Basud, Camarines Norte last July 13, 2023.

The guests were Engr. Emma A. Banatao, the DPWH Alternate Representative to the National Council on Disability Affairs, and Mr. Art M. Zafra Jr of DPWH. The conduct of such event is significant because persons with disability are known to be one of the most vulnerable sectors, it is only right and just to ensure that the government is innovating an inclusive and accessible environment for this sector.

The event commenced with an overview of the BP 344 and it’s challenges, and the policy audit for BP 344 which is delivered by Engr. Emma Banatao, and Mr. Art Zafra. In the afternoon, the participants experienced the access audit to understand how it is conducted and why is it important to get the appropriate measures in an establishment or building for inclusive purposes. All in all it became an interactive event where participants understand their role in adding value to such activity.

The event was attended by PDAO designate, MDRRM heads, building officials of twelve municipalities including representatives of the academe such as the Camarines Norte State College.
